Candidates must fulfill post-wise date of birth criteria as mentioned in the notification:
- Navik (GD) (01/2027 & 02/2027 Batches): Born between 01 November 2005 to 01 May 2009.
- Yantrik (01/2027 Batch): Born between 01 May 2005 to 01 May 2009.
- Navik (DB) (02/2027 Batch): Born between 01 November 2005 to 01 October 2009.
- Hygienist-I (02/2027 Batch): Born between 01 November 2002 to 01 October 2009.
- Age Relaxation: 03 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) and 05 years for SC / ST candidates as per government rules.
The Indian Coast Guard (ICG), an Armed Force of the Union under the Ministry of Defence, provides a prestigious career opportunity for youth to serve the maritime nation. Recruitment for Male Navik (GD) is conducted zone-wise across North, West, East, South, and Central zones, whereas Navik (GD) Female, Yantrik, Navik (DB), and Hygienist-I selections are held on an All-India merit basis. Selected candidates will undergo military training at INS Chilka followed by sea and branch-specific technical training.

Eligible candidates must read the instructions carefully and apply online through the specified portal:
- Visit the official recruitment portal (cgept.parikshasaarthi.in or ssc.gov.in) and click on online registration.
- Register using a valid email ID and active mobile number. Note that these details will be encrypted and cannot be changed later.
- Capture your live photograph during registration and upload a recent passport-size photograph (not older than 3 months) along with your signature.
- Upload necessary certificates (Class 10th DOB proof, Identity Proof such as Aadhaar Card, Category Certificate, Domicile Certificate) in clear, legible scanned formats.
- Pay the application fee of ₹550 online (if applicable) and preview all details thoroughly before final submission. Download and print the confirmation page for record.
The recruitment process comprises four successive stages:
• Stage-I (Computer Based Examination): Objective MCQ test consisting of 100 questions (100 marks) bilingual in Hindi & English with 1-hour duration and no negative marking. Qualifying marks are 40 for UR/EWS/OBC and 35 for SC/ST.
• Stage-II: Physical Fitness Test (1.6 km run in 6.5 mins for male / 8 mins for female, 20 squats for male / 15 for female, 15 push-ups for male / 10 for female, 15 bent-knee sit-ups for male / 10 for female), followed by Assessment & Adaptability Test, Document Verification, and Recruitment Medical Examination.
• Stage-III: Final document checking, Aadhaar-based identity verification, and pre-enrolment medicals at INS Chilka.
• Stage-IV: Final verification and authentication of all original educational credentials directly with boards and universities.
• Yantrik: Basic Pay of ₹29,200/- per month in Pay Level-5, plus Yantrik Pay @ ₹6,200/- per month, Dearness Allowance (DA), and other applicable allowances.
• Navik (General Duty), Navik (Domestic Branch), and Hygienist-I: Basic Pay of ₹21,700/- per month in Pay Level-3 plus DA and other service allowances.
• Additional Perks: Free ration and clothing, government accommodation/HRA, free medical treatment at military hospitals for self and dependents, 45 days Earned Leave and 8 days Casual Leave annually, CSD canteen facility, pension under NPS/UPS, and insurance coverage of ₹75 Lakh under NGIF.
• Minimum Height: 157 cm for Male candidates, 152 cm for Female candidates (relaxable up to 5 cm for North-East states, Gorkhas, Garhwal, Kumaon; 2 cm for Lakshadweep, Ladakh, A&N Islands).
• Chest: Minimum 77 cm with a minimum 5 cm expansion for males; proportionate well-developed chest with 5 cm expansion for females.
• Visual Standards: Navik (GD) 6/6 (better eye) & 6/9 (worse eye) without glasses (glasses not permitted); Navik (DB) 6/36 & 6/36; Yantrik 6/24 & 6/24; Hygienist 6/60 & 6/60 without glasses (6/9 & 6/24 with glasses).
• Hearing: Normal hearing capable of hearing a focused whisper from a distance of 6 meters.
