Candidates appearing for CTET 2026 must fulfill the following age and eligibility criteria:
- Minimum Age: 18 Years
- Maximum Age: No Upper Age Limit
Any candidate holding requisite professional teacher training qualification (D.El.Ed/B.Ed) is eligible to apply.
The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will soon release the revised examination dates for the Central Teacher Eligibility Test (CTET 2026). The examination, which was previously scheduled to take place on 6th September 2026, stands postponed. Candidates awaiting the revised timetable are advised to maintain continuous preparation focusing on the prescribed CTET syllabus, previous year question papers, and mock test series. Follow these simple steps to download the CTET Admit Card 2026 once released on the official portal:
- Visit the official website of CTET at ctet.nic.in.
- Navigate to the 'Latest News' or 'Candidate Activity' section on the homepage.
- Click on the link titled 'CTET Admit Card 2026' or 'Exam City Intimation Slip'.
- Enter your login credentials such as Application Number and Date of Birth/Password.
- Your admit card will be displayed on the screen. Verify all details and download/print it for examination day.
The CTET exam consists of two objective-type papers carrying 150 Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs) for 150 total marks each. Paper 1 includes Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics, Environmental Studies, Language-I, and Language-II. Paper 2 includes Child Development & Pedagogy, Mathematics & Science or Social Studies/Social Science, Language-I, and Language-II. There is no negative marking in the CTET examination.
Once the official exam date is notified by CBSE, the Exam City Intimation Slip will be published approximately 10 to 15 days prior to the test date. This enables candidates to arrange travel plans in advance. The final admit card containing specific test centre address and reporting timing will be issued around 4 days before the test date.
