Candidates must meet the following age criteria as of 01.08.2026:

Age relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable as per Government rules: SC/ST candidates get 5 years, OBC candidates get 3 years, and Ex-Servicemen get 3 years (after military service deduction). The Staff Selection Commission SSC CPO Sub Inspector Examination 2026 presents a prestige-filled opportunity for ambitious male and female graduates looking to serve in India's premier law enforcement agencies and paramilitary forces. Positions carry Pay Level-6 (₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400/-) with attractive allowances as per Central Government norms. Candidates undergo a rigorous, multi-stage selection process evaluating intelligence, physical standards, physical endurance, and medical fitness.

The recruitment process for SSC CPO SI consists of four mandatory stages: Tier-I Computer-Based Examination (Paper-I), Physical Standard Test (PST) / Physical Endurance Test (PET), Tier-II Computer-Based Examination (Paper-II), and Detailed Medical Examination (DME) combined with Document Verification (DV).

Paper-I includes 100 questions (25 each in Reasoning, General Knowledge, Quantitative Aptitude, and English) carrying 100 marks with a duration of 1 hour. Physical Standards (PST): Male General candidates require Height: 170 cm, Chest: 80-85 cm. Male ST candidates require Height: 162.5 cm, Chest: 77-82 cm. Male Hill area candidates require Height: 165 cm, Chest: 80-85 cm. Female General candidates require Height: 157 cm, ST females require 154 cm.

Physical Endurance Test (PET) for Male Candidates: 100m race in 16 seconds, 1.6 Km race in 6.5 minutes, Long Jump (3.65m in 3 chances), High Jump (1.2m in 3 chances), Shot Put 16 Lbs (4.5m in 3 chances). For Female Candidates: 100m race in 18 seconds, 800m race in 4 minutes, Long Jump (2.7m in 3 chances), High Jump (0.9m in 3 chances).

All Sub-Inspector posts in Delhi Police, CAPFs, and CISF (Fire) carry Pay Level-6 in the Pay Matrix (₹35,400 to ₹1,12,400/-). Posts in CAPFs and CISF are classified as Group 'B' Non-Gazetted, Non-Ministerial, while Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police is classified as Group 'C' Non-Gazetted.
