The Indian Navy has published the official notification details and syllabus for the recruitment of Agniveer (Matric Recruit) for Chef, Steward, Hygienist, and Musician trades. This recruitment offers an excellent career opportunity for 10th-pass youth to join the prestigious armed forces under the Agnipath scheme. Selected candidates will undergo rigorous military and professional trade training to prepare them for shipboard and shore duties across Naval establishments.

The recruitment selection process comprises Stage I (Computer Based Online Examination), Stage II (Written Examination, Physical Fitness Test & Document Verification), and Final Medical Examination. The examination covers two main sections: Section A (Science & Mathematics) and Section B (General Awareness).

Section A (Science and Mathematics): Nature of Matter, Universe, Electricity, Force & Gravitation, Newton's Laws of Motion, Work Energy & Power, Heat, Temperature, Metals & Non-Metals, Sound & Wave Motion, Atomic Structure, Mathematical Simplification, Ratio & Proportion, Algebraic Identities, Linear Equations, Basic Trigonometry, Mensuration, Geometry, Central Tendency, Interest, Profit & Loss, Percentage, Work, Time, Speed & Distance.

Section B (General Awareness): Geography (Soil, Rivers, Mountains, Ports), Culture & Religion, Freedom Movement, Important National Facts, Heritage, Arts & Dance, History, Defence, Wars & Neighbours, Awards & Authors, Discoveries, Diseases & Nutrition, Current Affairs, Capitals & Currencies, Eminent Personalities, National Symbols, and Sports Championships.

Selected candidates will be trained at INS Chilka for Basic Training, followed by Professional Training in their assigned trade at various Naval Training Establishments:

• Chef: Responsible for preparing food as per menu (vegetarian and non-vegetarian including meat products) and ration accounting.
• Steward: Responsible for serving food in Officers' messes, housekeeping, accounting of funds, wines and stores, and menu preparation.
• Hygienist: Maintenance of hygiene in washrooms and assigned operational naval areas.
• Musician: Required to play instruments specific to Naval bands.

In addition to trade-specific work, all Agniveer (MR) branches are trained in small arms handling, onboard lookout duties, and ship landing/boarding parties.
